Pere Ubu - The Art Of Walking

On this date in 1980, Pere Ubu released their fourth full length album, The Art Of Walking. As was somewhat usual for their releases, no singles were released from the album. A live performance of the album track, "Birdies", was included in the movie Urgh! A Music War. The avant-garde/proto punk band from Cleveland, Ohio was formed after Rocket From The Tombs broke up. Dave Thomas and Peter Laughner formed Pere Ubu while fellow Rocket From The Tombs band members, Cheetah Chrome and Johnny Blitz, founded The Dead Boys. Pere Ubu continues to release music.
