Thompson Twins - Lies

On this date in 1982, Thompson Twins released their ninth single, "Lies". It was backed by "Beach Culture". The A side appeared on their third album, Quick Step And Side Kick. The B side was a non-LP track that was added on a later CD re-release. The single reached the #30 spot on the U.S. singles chart and the #67 spot on the U.K. singles chart. This was their first single as a three piece band. The London new wave band would achieve a lot of commercial success with this pared down lineup. They disbanded in 1993.
