The Slits - Animal Space

On this date in 1980, The Slits released their third single, "Animal Space". It was backed by a dub called "Animal Spacier". Both were combined on their second album, Return Of The Giant Slits, as "Animal Space/Spacier". The London punk/post-punk band was originally an all-girl band but had, at one point, male drummer Budgie, later of Siouxsie and The Banshees. The band disbanded in 1981 after two albums. They re-formed a few years ago.
