Yep. Welp, Shit. Last Night MY GROUP Melt Banana came back through town forcing me to miss Rapid Ric at Venue and Special Ed and YZ at the Engine Room. Hoping both went off smashngly, but I can't miss Melt Banana when they come around. Seriously, Melt Banana trumps pretty much everything for me. Don't know bout 'em? Better ask somebody. They are like rock and roll mad scientists. Here's a few flicks.

They're not the best representation of the show cuz I was feeling lazy on said night and wasn't feeling like shooting much. Nor did I want to fight the crowd to get to the front. Squincy saved the damn night. One of the turntables would not work and everyone was sent into a panic for 5 minutes until the man magically pulled one out of his hat. I mean trunk.

See, I was feeling lazy...


Didn't get too close but suffice it to say, the show was GREAT! Man, I had low expectations for it to be real with you. I'm a Ghostface fan and all that, but was a lil leary as to how he would deal with the band. Like, a lot of rappers can't get over the set track mentality that comes wiht performing to a CD so often. Man, Ghost actually led the band, improvised a bit, went with the flow, let things go in weird directions, it was dope man. He was fully immersed in the sound and brought forth a great show. Dude really is top notch.

And rappers should just have bands. It's 2007. Get a band.

EL APRENDIZ DE SATANAS

SINOPSIS:
Dougie Whooly es un niño completamente obsesionado con Satan's little helper, un videojuego en el que el protagonista, al servicio de Satanás, debe causar dolor y muerte a los ciudadanos para acumular puntos. Su obsesión le lleva a disfrazarse como el personaje del videojuego el día de Hallowwen y a buscar al Maligno para convertirse en su ayudante. Inesperadamente, Dougie lo encuentra, y juntos inician un macabro periplo en el que se dedican a sembrar el terror y la destrucción por el vecindario. Y ni siquiera los padres o la hermana de Dougie y su novio estarán a salvo...

Jeff Lieberman dirige este film, una original mezcla de horror y humor negro, en el que los asesinatos cometidos por un enigmático personaje disfrazado de demonio son asistidos entusiastamente por Dougie, el personaje de Alexander Brickel (quien más tarde participaría en la cult movie de Todd Solondz, Palíndromos). La cinta también cuenta con la participación de Amanda Plummer, vista en obras capitales del cine contemporáneo como El rey pescador o Pulp Fiction, y con un valor en alza: Katheryn Winnick, que interpreta a la hermana de Dougie, una rotunda belleza destinada a convertirse en una de las próximas scream queens de referencia

Con Kim Nekromantix como reclamo, no esperes una ración más de psychobilly como nos tienen acostumbrados los Nekromantix. Horrorpops son una banda sin prejuicios ni limitaciones estilísticas. Que se manisfiesten seguidores de bandas como Depeche Mode o Billy Idol puede ser suficiente para que muchos de vosotros no sigais leyendo, pero os aseguro que su primer disco es todo un bálsamo de rock&roll y Horrorpops una banda a tener muy en cuenta

La personalidad de la banda viene de juntar los pasados de tres bandas danesas; Peanut Pump Gun (punk alternativo), Nekromatix (psychobilly) y Strawberry Slaughterhouse (hardcore-punk). El resultado es un rock n roll retro y fresco al tiempo
