Band Members : Gordie Farrell; Upright Bass & Vocals, Shawn Farrell; Guitar & Vocals, Nuke Norval; Drums & Backing Vocals.
Influences : Stray Cats, The Clash, Louvin Bros, The Viletones, Gene Vincent, Social Distortion, Handsome Ned, etc. etc. etc.

The Farrell Bros. rock like krazy! Frantic Rockabilly with a Country Twang, a Punk Rock attitude n’ shit-kickin’ sibling harmonies, it’s understandable why the Farrell’s have been described as ’The Everly Bros meet The Sex Pistols or Hank Williams at double speed’. With a live show that walks the fine line between sublime harmony and rampant acoustic assault, this powerful duo guarantees a lesson in the true essence of Rock n’ Roll. The Farrell Bros. started in Selkirk, Manitoba Canada in 1998 with Gordie n’ Shawn each playing guitar. After releasing their debut, ’The Ballad of Jackpine Slash’, they hooked up with a rhythm section for 2000’s ’Go To Hell’ EP. While the Bros sound is rooted in the traditional 50’s Rockabilly, they incorporate other musical elements and themes into their hybrid mix. With Gordie Farrell takin’ over the Dog-house bass duties, and Jeff Tetrault aka ’The Post-Atomic Hillbilly’, holdin’ down the drum kit. In spring of 2002 they found themselves back in the studio with new songs and the right line-up to lay down what would eventually be released in Canada as ’Rumble @ the Opry’ on the Teenage Rampage Records label, and worldwide as ’Curbstomp Boogie’ on Raucous Records. 2005 saw the Bros Canadian release of "This is a Riot!" on Stumble/Universal.http://www.thefarrellbros.com/images/unclepete2.jpg

THE NERVE MAGAZINE: BEAST OF BOOGIE UNLEASHED! - Jesus jumped-up Christ, this is a fucking humdinger of a record! Yes, i just said humdinger. A beast of boogie has been unleashed once again from Selkirk, Manitoba, and is Hell-bent on setting your notion of modern Rockabilly on its geriatric ass. This album is catchier than a Gene Vincent ditty and a case of the crabs combined. You'll be shakin' your legs to this with such frenzy that people will think you've got a historic case of the little critters. Punked up and pissed off, with enough sneer and swagger to knock the lips clean off Elvis Presley, The Farrell Bros. also prove with This is a Riot that Rockabilly can still be dangerous. This is music to fight with knives to. -Devon Cody NerveOnline
.
CHART ATTACK MAGAZINE: PUNKABILLY MADNESS! - Selkirk, Manitoba's Farrell Brothers have been blazing a path of Punkabilly madness for several years now. Their latest record shows they have no signs of slowing down as they rip through an invigorating set that recalls early Clash. "Fight" sounds like it could have been the b-side to The Clash's first single, "Kristy" has the reggae twinge and "It's Alright Tonight" masters The Clash's classic triumphant song intro. The only real difference between The Farrell Brothers and The Clash is these songs are about guns, chicks and chains rather than corrupt politics and being on the dole. It's a tried and true approach that the Farrell Bros bring home with enthusiasm.- Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski/ www.ChartAttack.com/

Farrell Bros 'Go To Hell' by is superb Modern Rockabilly played with acoustic guitars, with elements of Hillbilly & Skiffle. At times The Farrell Bros sound like a cross between Terry & Gerry and The Shakin' Pyramids, and have been described as 'Hank Williams on Speed' and 'Everly Brothers meets The Sex Pistols'...

BOOT STOMPIN' BARNDANCE - Incendiary speed country-bluegrass with a touch of rockabilly flair and some exultant bravo in their live show, go out of your mind, ladies and gentlemen, all the way from Selkirk, Manitoba, please help me welcome...The Farrell Brothers! The liner notes give you a few more clues: a cover of Hank Williams "I Saw the Light" and "You'll Be Rewarded Over There" by the Louvin Brothers, plus "Devil in Disguise" and a couple Farrell originals. It's a short EP, 5 songs in 11 minutes. The boys have wild nasal voices that make the gospel shouting all the less real. You have to hand it to them for such a great recording job, capturing both that boot-stomping barndance revival sound, but managing to keep every bass line clear, all the guitars shining through. Fabulous. - Gabino Travassos - Mote Magazine
.
Recorded in Winnipeg early in 2000. It was recorded at Maddock studios. Ballad of Jackpine slash was finished at this studio and we had really liked the feel of it. With ...Go to Hell! we really felt we captured what we had set out to here. We had just got together a regular backing band with Big Daddy on stand-up bass and the Atomic Hillbilly on drums and had just got off a busy season of touring. We were totally acoustic at the time and had wanted to capture what we were doing live. This album was recorded very live off the floor. The Engineer thought we were recording some demos so everything was very loose and nothing over analyzed. We took the tapes and released em' as is, mistakes and all! - SF

CLASSIC TWANG AND CONTEMPORARY ADRENALINE - Selkirk Rockabilly siblings Gordie and Shawn sport mile-high DAs and black Rebels leathers, but they're more than retro-rebels. Their new 14 track Rumble @ the Opry - a fiery fusion of classic twang and contemporary adrenaline - is all the proof you need. Sure, Gordie can slap that doghouse bass like Bill Black, Shawn can pull twangy licks out of his vintage gee-tar like Scotty Moore, and they both pitch in with vocals brimming with Eddie Cochran grit, hiccuping yelps and primal screams. But barn-burning originals like Angel with a Dirty Face and Curbstomp Boogie, coupled with their lickety - split delivery - closer to the punky Psychobilly of Rev. Horton Heat than the rural twang of Sun Studios - Darryl Sterdan/Winnipeg Sun
.
STYLUS MAGAZINE: RUMBLE @ THE OPRY - Release number three from everyone's favorite Selkirkian greasers is what these boys were aiming for from the get-go and they've blasted that pop bottle from here to Lockport, at least. Forgoing the mainstream roots rock high falootin' ness that they dabbled in on their debut, the 'Rumble' takes off where their Go to Hell EP left off, showcasing the fiery link from Rockabilly past to hardcore... uh, more recent past. Imagine if the Alvin brothers had been following around Black Flag and the Jesus Lizard instead of those old blues guys and you'll have a good idea of what's going on here. Ever since bro' Gordie recently shifted to duties on the stand-up bass, the Farrells have been in high gear in the clubs and this full length disc brings it home. Who needs the future when the past still kicks your ass this hard? -Stu Reid

DEAD END BOYS - Well folks, here it is! Our latest international effort. What was Curbstomp Boogie to Rumble at the Opry, such is Dead End Boys to This is a Riot. For those of u’s not skooled in the nuances of the Farrell catalog, what that means is, “Dead End Boys” is essentially the re-mastered UK release of our Canadian released album This is a Riot (Stumble Records 2005) Make sense? There are a few differences though. Like I said, it’s been re-mastered and re-sequenced. Enuff?…not by far! Here’s the best part. We also had a chance to get back into Bedside studios with Lennie Milne after the “Riot” sessions to lay down a few more up to date rockers. The results of that session appear as the bonus/title track(s). No formerly discarded dug up or re-hashed turds here. No sir, til the next album, this is as fresh as it gets. But that’s not all. Besides the bonus tracks (title track “Dead End Boy” and “Sten Gun”) it’s also got a completely new and up to date package design.
COVER ART: We’ve long-time been fans of Winnipeg based comic book artist Darren Merinuk and the numerous album covers, posters, etc. we’ve been witness to over the years. We called Darren in to put pen to paper and couldn’t be happier with the results. Released in the Digi-pac format, it’s available now from Raucous Records n’ off the stage at all finer Farrell Bros appearances. Don’t miss it! - Farrell Bros
